Swaffham school is a special educational needs and disabilities center, for children from the age of 5-16 years. Designing to BS EN 12845 and incorporating TB221, the system comprised of an external tank and pump room housed within an independent GRP enclosure.

A connecting underground main into the ground floor plant room is fed from a wet alarm valve, feeding the 1200 heads across three floors. External canopy protection around the ground floor perimeter meant trace heating lagging to the pipework, ensuring system reliability in even the coldest conditions.

The project posed a few coordination problems at the start, but working closely with the client team and carrying out regular design meetings throughout the coordination process, ensured that everything was finalised before hitting site.
